Inquiry Based Learning

At Funscape, we believe that learning begins with curiosity.

Our inquiry-based approach places your child at the centre of the learning process—encouraging them to ask questions, explore, experiment, and discover knowledge in meaningful ways.

Rather than memorising facts, children at Funscape engage in hands-on projects and meaningful discussions that foster critical and creative thinking. Whether it’s exploring nature, solving real-world problems, or expressing ideas through art and storytelling, inquiry-based learning helps them connect what they learn to the world around them.

This approach not only strengthens academic understanding—it also nurtures confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for learning.

Our unique Inquiry Cycle guides children through six engaging phases:

  • Finding out
  • Sorting out
  • Going further
  • Making conclusions
  • Taking action
  • Turning in

To honour our learners’ growth, every end of term we host Star Week; a celebration where we recognise each child’s achievements, strengths, and learning journey. It’s a moment to shine, reflect, and take pride in the progress they’ve made.

STAR Week-which stands for Show, Tell, And Reflect. Held at the end of every term, STAR Week gives children the opportunity to become the stars of their own learning journey.

During STAR Week, our little learners get to:

  • SHOW what they’ve created
  • TELL their thoughts and discoveries
  • REFLECT on what they’ve learned and why it matters
